In addition to an excellent program by Elizabeth Kessler, Executive Director of the McHenry County Conservation District, the club sang "Happy Birthday" to Ron Bykowski (shown here with his wife, Linda) who turned 70 on April 1st.  Ron has been a member of McHenry Rotary many years, active in the leadership and a Past President.
Ms. Kessler reminded the club that the Conservation District is relatively new in the the area, having been founded in 1971 by a group of ecologically minded citizens.  It seeks to preserve, restore, and manage natural areas and open space for their intrinsic values and for the benefit of citizens today and in the future.
The club gathered in a small but intimate room at the McHenry Village Square and enjoyed an entree of Chicken Brochette.  It will meet once more at this location on April 9th, and then have three meetings for the remaining Thursday in April at Marzano's Restaurant on Illinois 31 South.  The directors are in a process of determining where we would like to have our regular meetings.
