Rotary International and ShelterBox USA are partners providing disaster relief. The United States is the middle of an unfortunate spate of natural disasters.  In Texas and Florida the aftermath of Category 4 Atlantic Hurricanes Irma and Harvey mark the first time two such hurricanes have devastated the United States in the same year.

The Rotary Club of McHenry has encouraged local schools to help disaster relief through ShelterBox USA, which provides (among other relief) shelters within shelters.  This assistance will be used to assist those in Florida affected by Hurricane Irma and those in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey.

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 Denis Buch (Club President) and Don Tonyan Sr. (Co-Chair of the Blues, Brews & Barbecue Committee, Co-Chair of the Club’s Service Projects Committee) introduced the ShelterBox USA fundraiser to students and staff at the McHenry Middle School.  Additional presentations are scheduled for additional schools in McHenry, Johnsburg and other nearby communities.

If you would like to assist in the relief of these natural disasters, you can send tax deductible donations to the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation, Inc. at P.O. Box 28, McHenry, IL 60051.  Please note on your check “USA Natural Disaster Relief”.  Our Foundation will forward your donations to assist those affected by such natural disasters.
