MCHENRY ROTARY LEARNS ABOUT THE HISTORIC PETERSEN FARM

                The Rotary Club of McHenry, at its Thursday noon meeting at the McHenry County Club, welcomed local historian, Pat Wirtz, who presented a program on the history of the Petersen Farm and the community activities planned by the Petersen Farm Foundation.  The farm dates back to 1842 when Page Colby purchased 240 acres along what would become McCullon Lake Road.  Every year the Foundations holds a “Petersen Farm Day” with tours of the farm  house, activities for the children, and other forms of entertainment.  Over 1,500 attended their last event.
