Joe Korpalski, Director of Transportation for McHenry County, was the guest speaker for the regular noon meeting of the McHenry Rotary Club, Thursday, November 15th, at the McHenry Country Club.  Jeff Young, the Assistant County Engineer, also spoke briefly.  Mr. Korpalski addressed the current issues facing the road building and transportation needs of McHenry County noting that,  as with most communities, transportation needs always are greater than the resources.  The are 500 lane miles of country roads that receive about 1 million vehicle miles per year.   He highlighted the construction which will begin soon on the Charles Miller Road--improvements which will involve widening of the road and bridge near River Road.  The program was well received as evidenced by the number of questions asked at the end of their presentation.   Joe Korpalski is on the left in the photograph and Jeff Young is on the right.
